About the Webmaster!

You can call me Bear! I’m in my early 20s, and I'm a Scorpio!

I'm an artist, gamer, and aspiring historian with a very strong love of all things goofy and puppety. I have a great love of so many different styles I can feel them trying to tug my aesthetic expression apart as I try my best to bring them together. I really love a variety of gothic styles, more farmhouse-inspired cottagecore styles, and the bright pinks and neon greens of the late 2000s and early 2010s.

As I'm sure is evident, I also love puppets and cartoons.

Hobbies, Interests, and Art Mediums

I work primarily with textiles. I knit, crochet, sew, and do just a little bit of embroidery. I also, as you can probably see by looking around, do a lot of doodling and illustration both with pencil and paper and digital art.

I collect a combination of nostalgic favorite toys, new dolls that bring me joy, supplementary books and magazines to my favorite shows, movies, and series, Pokémon cards, and little figurines that would fit right in a grandma's China cabinet. I collect for nostalgia, for fun, and to decorate my house in a way that really inspires my art and reminds me of why I love what I love.

I also love history! My favorite eras and subjects are the laypeople and knights of late Medieval Europe (particularly daily life, interpersonal relationships, and sexuality), Regency-era England, the home front efforts during the World Wars, the Cold War (lives of everyday people within former Soviet countries), The JFK assassination (yes, specifically the assassination, not necessarily his entire presidency and legacy), and the various cults that came out of the midcentury cult boom.

Needless to say (as I'm sure you can tell if you look around for a little bit), I also love The Muppets and a lot of what the Jim Henson Company and related studios (such as Sesame Workshop and the Creature Shop) have put out over the years.

I primarily listen to post-punk, new wave (and new-wave revival), synthwave, bubblegum dance, and basically any subgenre of alternative rock. I do occasionaly venture outside this realm for a bit of grunge, country, and pop, but I like to stay inside my little bubble for the most part.

A Rogue's Gallery of Favorite Characters

I'm sure all sorts of little conspiracy string boards could be made just looking at all these characters, you can see I tend to like them big, powerful, dramatic, flat-toned, goofy, literal, and often a little (or a lot) stupid. Have a look at some of my favorite collections of writing, pixels, and puppets.

The Zoo

I thought it would be fun to display a bunch of my favorite animals! This is of course a very limited selection, but for animal "types" I would say I generally love love big cats, monkeys and apes, cows, large lizards, bears, and dogs. I'm sure another pattern can be picked up on here: where I'll fixate on a character associated with an animal, I wonder about the animal, learn about the animal, and end up loving the animal hehe.
